SUGAR & ICE is a jukebox musical written by Saskia Glass in 2021. It premiered at 'The Royale Theatre' at Planet Royale as part of FRINGE WORLD festival 2022 on January 19th. Saskia is also the co-director & graphic designer, and performed in the role of Melody Kirke, best friend to the main protagonist, Camilla.

SYNPOSIS

Even performing at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and a national tour couldn’t prevent the inevitable divorce of bubblegum-pop girl-group ‘Starburst.’ Now Camilla has to make a decision, put the Louboutins to rest, settle for suburban life and scrapbook the tabloid articles, or continue the uphill climb to ultimate stardom as a solo artist. When high profile agent Maxine Fox scouts her from the rough, it’s tough to deny the latter, and Camilla embarks on round two of chasing fame. Amidst fresh rivals, fake friends, financial turmoil and the fiendish social media, fame reveals itself to be not so lavish, but rather an addiction that gains a not-so-glamorous grasp on Camilla’s entire life. From the writer and director who presented the 5-star-reviewed, sold out season of ‘The Karaoke Club: A New Musical’ at FRINGE WORLD 2021 comes this brand new jukebox musical, featuring the most iconic female pop powerhouse tracks of the early 2000s, including the likes of Rihanna, Stefani, Spears and Gaga. This show has sugar, spice and is dripping with ice.
