At the end of 2021, Saskia was appointed artistic director of the Australian pop academy, a fremantle-based youth choir. SINCE THEN SHE HAS selected and Choreographed the choir's repertoire and been in charge of organising showcases, marketing, social media, graphic design, and all other administration for the business.
Our mission at APA is to give young performers high quality training, developing their vocal & movement skills, artistic flare and confidence, in an encouraging and supportive space.
APA is truly one-of-a-kind, Perth’s only contemporary youth choir that prioritises students performing songs THEY love as, unapologetically, themselves!
We work towards two concerts and one music video every year. At our concerts, the choir performs up to 15 songs they’ve learnt over the semester to a live audience.
Students are taught a range of impressive harmonies as a group, composed by our tutors to current and classic pop songs. If they wish, they are then also presented with the opportunity to audition for solo vocal parts in a supportive environment. We help students develop their rhythm to execute choreography that ranges from soulful grooving to intricate & precise, keeping them fit while having fun!
