During Saskia's bachelor degree in performance making at THE WEST AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS, she had the opportunity to be part of a diverse range of theatrical pursuits, including but not limited to:
GENERATOR (DIRECTED BY RENEE NEWMAN, 2021) ‘The day the sky fell down’ was a group-devised performance by the WAAPA 2nd year Performance Making students. The cohort worked collaboratively to craft the show from scratch, directed by course coordinator Renee Newman.
folds (directed by dr. Frances barbe, 2021) A collaboration between the WA Museum and WAAPA, FOLDS was created and performed by the 2nd year Performance Making students. It was a unique site-specific work sculpted around the museum's many exhibits. Saskia was a featured vocalist and storyteller in the cosmos exhibit, as seen in the attached media.
the arsonists (directed by Mel Cantwell, 2022) The Arsonists is a play by Max Frisch, and was performed in the Enright studio by the 3rd year performance making students, with movement direction by Bernadette Lewis. Saskia portrayed the role of 'Babette,' wife to the show's protagonist 'Biedermann.'

tilt (2022)  TILT is the final showcase students of the BPA present at the Blue Room Theatre in Perth city. Saskia was a performer/deviser in two shows, which were developed over an 8-month collaborative devising process. The first show was titled 'The H.M.S Wilson-Smith', an absurdist short play written by Abigael Russel and directed by Mazey O'Reilly that explored a post-climate-crisis world and the well-to-do family left floating in it's remains (performed alongside Ashley Elliott & Isabella Mclean.)  This show was awarded 'The Tilt Award' upon graduation. Secondly was 'At Least this is Not a Show,' a surreal physical theatre performance, co-performed with Sarah Milde, with live musical accompaniment by Renee Bottern, animation by Isobel Pitt, and directed by Mara Kremmidiotis.
Saskia also coordinated social media presence for TILT, working alongside Sarah Milde to craft interviews and BTS content for the WAAPA instagram page.

"The HMS Wilson-Smith is a compelling little absurdist play in the manner of Beckett or Ionesco, with a swish little twist in the tale ... Mother Judith is played with conviction by Isabella Mclean, teenage daughter Jessica is played with lovely ring of truth detail by Saskia Glass, with younger daughter Josie played with agility and charm by Ashley Elliot. Abi Russell and Marli Haddeill float by in some short but clever cameos. A great way to start the season and a gorgeous set."

"The spirit of Charlie Chaplin and the silent movies move through the tableaux that make up At Least this is Not a Show, a precisely choreographed and craftily constructed piece of physical theatre electrified by the brimful talent of Saskia Glass, who is ably partnered by her co-deviser Sarah Milde. The visuals of Isobel Pitt and music of Renee Bottern give further lustre to a sophisticated and beautifully realised piece; more please!"

musical theatre
In 2018, Saskia discovered her love for performing musical theatre through Bring It On: The Musical, presented by Blackbox Performing Arts, where she delivered an energetic and comedic performance as Kylar. In the following years, she played goth-girl Molly in Band Geeks, also with Blackbox Performing Arts, and charismatic Lily St. Regis in Annie, presented by Kidz Kompany.
2021 marked a significant milestone for Saskia as she wrote and performed in her first original musical, The Karaoke Club, which premiered at the Perth Fringe Festival. Continuing to explore her passion as both a writer and performer, she debuted Sugar & Ice at the 2022 Perth Fringe Festival, playing the role of Melody.

DANCE & PHYSICAL THEATRE

Saskia’s early years in dance were shaped by a decade of performances with Johnny Young Talent School, where she featured in numerous concerts at the Rixon Theatre (2006–2016) and as part of the school’s song & dance troupe at hundreds of major events, including the Canning Shows, Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walks, HBF Run for a Reason, Willetton Rotary Fairs, Gloucester Park events, Telethons, and a televised appearance on The Couch (Foxtel). She was also a featured performer in Carols in the Park at Burswood Park (2011–2016).
During high school, she performed annually at YOH Fest (2015–2017), later returning as a choreographer in 2018. Her stage presence extended to the South of the Swan Dance Festival (2016–2018) and Nexus Dance Festival (2017–2019) at the Octagon Theatre. She also choreographed and performed original works for the Rossmoyne SHS student showcases (2018, 2019), as part of ATAR Dance and her Certificate II in Dance. In 2019, she travelled with classmates to Sydney to participate in Autumn workshops with Brent Street, Village Nation Performing Arts, Sydney Dance Company, and Legs on the Wall Theatre Company.
At WAAPA, she continued exploring storytelling through movement, devising and performing in various small-scale works over three years. Currently, she is the resident choreographer for The Australian Pop Academy, contributing to their annual concerts and music videos. She remains active in the Perth dance community by attending open classes and engaging in freelance opportunities.

ACTING
Throughout her schooling, Saskia was an active member of the small drama community at Rossmoyne SHS. Early performances include Mrs. Boeuf/the Grocer’s Wife in Ionesco’s absurdist classic Rhinoceros and Bronwyn in Debra Oswald’s coming-of-age comedy Dags, both staged in 2018. In 2019, she took on the role of The Stage Manager in Our Town by Thornton Wilder, guiding the audience through the play’s poignant reflection on life and time. She also portrayed the lead role of 'Amelia' in short-film Hope, directed by Justin Thomas.
While studying at WAAPA, she took a variety of acting classes taught by Angela Punch McGregor, Caitlin Beresford-Ord and Julia Moody. In 2023, she was called down to Bunbury Fringe Festival last minute to assist her classmates in presenting their play 'Bob's Diner'.'

"Special mention must go to Saskia Glass in the role of new-starter Eve, not missing a single beat despite jumping into the role just over 24 hours prior to show-time due to one cast member becoming unwell."
